It is true that on most ink jet CD / DVD printers, if you print the same colour a lot, for example on something like a logo, you will get through your cartridges quicker and get less value for money. The reason for this is that most CD/ DVD printers (including the highly respected Microboards PF-3) have ink cartridges that combine Cyan, Magenta and Yellow. This means that although theses units provide a great cost per print in general, if you use all the Magenta you will need to replace the cartridge even if the Cyan and Yellow are still relatively full.
Fortunately Microboards now has a solution to this problem.
The Microboards PF Pro, the big brother to the Microboards PF-3, offers separate ink cartridges. This means that if you use all the Magenta you can just swap out the Magenta cartridge without having to replace the other two cartridges.
